I’m currently a member of Varia and have been involved in co-creating and/or maintaining several sister initiatives in collaboration with our broader network: AFNR, Bitbit, homebrewserver.club, Relearn, Fizz Club and Networks of One’s Own. I’ve helped run events and participated in the infrastructure working group, co-maintaining our collective infrastructure.
I co-founded several local community projects such as Biobulkbende, Prikbord, the BoTu timebank, the Rotterdam Community Network and Permacomputing Rotterdam.
I coordinated the Rotterdam branch and worked as a paid organiser for the BPW, a grassroots tenants union active nationally in the Netherlands. We’ve worked closely on campaigns with projects such as the Wijkbond, BuurToren, WWDH and Woonopstand.
I maintain several small free softwares projects such as iroh-go and p2panda-go. I’m active on Github, git.coopcloud.tech and sometimes Codeberg. I am primarily interested in peer-to-peer and distributed systems and how they can be applied to community managed hosting outside of data centers.
I co-founded Autonomic and Co-op Cloud and have worked as a professional programmer, project manager and system administrator in the IT sector for over a decade. I was one of the core maintainers Abra for several years and co-coordinated the Co-op Cloud Federation as a member of Autonomic.
