Varia is not a fully horizontal and democratic organisation. There is a group
of 5 people that we started to name as the 'five-pack', that take more
responsibility on their shoulders to keep Varia running. This includes
answering to emails or requests, doing administration and finances, server
maintainance and they initiate the membernights. We try to have conversations
and develop ideas around future directions of Varia, and share ideas or changes
with the members during the member meetings.

Every first Wednesday of the month we organise a membermeeting. This is the
moment where we see each other, inform the others about upcoming
projects/events/parties, ask for help, share possible collaborations and
discuss all other Varia related things. We try to make clear notes, for the
members that cannot join the meeting and as a reference for after meeting
thoughts.

Aims and Means
1.  The association aims to create space for the collective development of critical relationships to technology.
2.  The association tries to achieve this goal by:
  a.  Establishing, maintaining and operating a common physical space and a set of facilities;
  b.  Establishing, maintaining and operating a common digital space and a set of facilities;
  c.  Setting up and facilitating thematic work groups, which engage with this critical relationship in different ways;
  d.  Setting up a common fund to support initiatives and activities for the association;
  e.  Actively involving and supporting the member base in the pursuit of these goals;
  f.  Stimulating Free software culture;
  g.  Promoting its vision through publications and events;
  h.  Seeking a connection with (international) organizations that have similar goals;
3.  The association may not distribute profits among its members.
4.  The funds of the association are obtained from contributions, donations,
    subsidies and paid assignments that support the aim of the association as
    described in Article 3.1.
